God's Cake
Do you sometimes wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did this to happen to me?"
A daughter comes home from school. “Mom, everything is going wrong. I’m failing algebra, my boyfriend broke up with me, and Tammy is moving away. She’s my best friend. Why me?”
Meanwhile, her Mother starts baking a cake. She asks her daughter if she would like a snack.
"Absolutely Mom, I love your cake."
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck" says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all yucky!"
The mother replies, "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But, when they are put together in the right way, they make wonderfully delicious cake!”
Life works the same way. We all go through yucky times. When we look back, yucky times always presented opportunities for growth. We just have to trust. Eventually, everything can become something wonderful!
